About Youth Continuing Education

Youth Continuing Education is an international not-for-profit organisation that transforms lives around the world by improving education.
As part of our charitable mission, we invest annually in a major programme of education research which informs the projects we deliver, as well as influencing policymaking and supporting practitioners.

We own four high-performing private schools – three in the UK and one in South Africa. While all very different in character, with unique identities as befit their strong roles in their local communities, they all share deep-rooted common values and principles.

About our research
We invest annually in our programme of education research so that education reform can be evidence-informed. Our research informs policymakers around the world as well as our own work on the ground – and it is all available to download free here on our website.

Research
School closures in the context of Covid-19: an inequity impact assessment of Primary 2 and 3 pupils Following Covid-19-related school closures across Rwanda, our Building Learning Foundations team commissioned an inequity impact assessment of the country’s primary-age school population to investigate how children from different backgrounds and contexts have fared during the period of closures, and to inform plans for school reopening.

Learning Renewed: ten lessons from the pandemic
The Covid-19 crisis has tested education systems in unprecedented ways. In this report, we summarize ten key lessons from the pandemic, which should be used to inform planning for the long-term reconstruction and recovery of education systems. These lessons are drawn from a thorough global review of evidence and policy throughout school closures and plans for reopening around the world, with a particular emphasis on examples of good practice.
